10 PM Tuesday Tropical Update: Tropical Storm Zeta forecast to reach New Orleans Wednesday

Tropical Storm Zeta's winds have increased slightly to 70 mph, however it remains a Tropical Storm. The forecast path has been nudged a tad west.

Landfall as a Category 1 hurricane still set for southeast Louisiana Wednesday afternoon, which is a bit earlier than earlier forecasts. The National Hurricane Center notes in their discussion that the intensity estimates are on the higher end of model forecasts.

Impacts including rain, wind and storm surge are expected in southeast Louisiana especially Wednesday afternoon from roughly 1 pm to 10 pm.

A hurricane warning continues from Morgan City, Louisiana, to the Mississippi/Alabama border, including Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas, and metropolitan New Orleans.

A storm surge warning continues for all of southeast Louisiana outside the levee protection system and south Mississippi.

A flood watch is in effect on Wednesday for our entire area excluding northern Tangipahoa Parish.
